The Old Post House Hotel

Situated in the heart of the Forrest of Bowland lies the historic market town of Clitheroe, in Lancashire's beautiful Ribble valley.Until 1928 The Old Post House Hotel and Restaurant was a fully functional post office, serving the local community. Since then it has become an iconic establishment of unique character and reputation. Whatever your reason for staying at The Old Post House, whether it be for the spectacular scenery and walking or cycling we can provide secure cycle storage, packed lunches and even cycle hire. Also available at reception are maps detailing numerous walks and hikes for all abilities plus the best cycle routes.

Our recently refurbished restaurant serves traditional homemade cuisine, using the best locally sourced produce. The restaurant is open at lunchtime and is open to non residents. We offer quality bed and breakfast accommodation at competitive rates, making the Old Post House the ideal base to explore the Ribble Valley and surroundings areas.

Our accommodation comprises of 10 en suite rooms, all decorated to a high standard with all the amenities you would expect, plus free Wi Fi. For disabled access we have a ramp at the rear of the hotel, a private free car park is available to residents and dinner guests.

The Old Post House is located in the centre of Clitheroe, close to the towns bus and rail stations. We are also within walking distance to Clitheroe Castle and museum.The area benefits from many excellent sporting facilities plus the golf lover will be spoilt for choice with a number of quality courses nearby.
